Roger Federer defeats Marin Cilic to reach ATP Finals Semifinals

Roger Federer defeated Marin Cilic 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 to reach the Semifinals of the ATP Finals. Roger Federer has been playing excellently during the 2017 ATP Finals with consecutive group stage wins over Jack Sock and Alexander Zverev. He extended his fine run with a win over Marin Cilic.

Marin Cilic started the match excellently by playing aggressively and taking the set 7-6 in a tiebreaker.  However, Federer  fought back and won the 2nd set with a Cilic break of serve 6-4. Marin Cilic succumbed to Federer pressure as he lost his serve early in the deciding set to go down 2-0. Cilic never recovered as Federer ran away with the set and match emphatically 6-1.
