Dec 30 Serena Williams returns to tennis

Serena Williams made her return to tennis in an exhibition match against Jelena Ostapenko at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. She lost 6-2, 6-3, 10-5 in a fairly competitive match.

Ostapenko dominated the first set 6-2 easily. However Serena recovered to win the 2nd set 6-3. The match went to a supertie breaker. Ostapenko surged ahead 5-0 in the tiebreaker then Serena rallied to 8-5. however Ostapenko was able to close out the match.
